Neziskovky.cz, p.b.c. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise the awareness of the general public about the non-profit sector and to strengthen its role in civic society in the Czech Republic and on the international level. One of the main objectives of Neziskovky.cz is to make the activities of non-governmental non-profit organizations more professional and to support their co-operation. Neziskovky.cz is an open organization, co-operating with and initiating co-operation of other NGOs with contributory organizations, public administration and the business sphere. Neziskovky.cz achieves its goals by providing information, educational and publishing services.

Co-ordination of the annual nation-wide "30 Days of the Non-profit Sector" media campaign, promoting the work and activities of non-profit organizations. 30 Days for the Civic Sector 2001 (a compilation of documents)

Holding and organising events for non-profit organizations (conferences, congresses, seminars, workshops and meetings)

Co-operation with universities, the Humanities Faculty of Charles University in Prague and the Czech University of Agriculture in Prague (providing informational background for students, co-organising seminars, offering study visits etc.)

Membership in ORPHEUS, the network of European information centers for non-profit organizations

Membership in the NGO Association Supporting the Non-profit Sector in Regions of the Czech Republic

FINISHED PROJECTS:

Strengthening the Development of Civil Society in the Regions of the Czech Republic - a project was carried out in two regions of the Czech Republic (Cesky Krumlov and Hradec Kralove) aimed at providing educational and consulting help to regional NGOs in order to support their development

Legal Environment for the Non-profit Sector in the Czech Republic - a three-year project which aimed at analysis, active lobbying and education in the process of transformation of the legal environment for Czech non-profit organizations

Discussing the European Union with the Citizens of the Czech Republic - a project carried out within the framework of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs` Communication Strategy for the Entry of the CR into the EU. The project`s main objective was to arouse interest in and initiate discussion by the general public about the problems of the CR`s entry into the EU through activities of non-profit organizations.
